Andrew McAvan

Research Specialist

I am currently a research specialist working for the lab at the University of Arizona. I am interested in path integration & cognitive mapping in virtual reality environments, and I currently utilize Unity & C# scripting to create those environments.

Before I joined the Human Spatial Cognition Lab, I obtained my B.S. in Psychology (2018) from the University of Arizona where I volunteered in the Psychology, Policy, and Law Lab under Dr. Connie Beck, and the Anxiety Research Group under Dr. William Jake Jacobs.
Post-graduation I worked in a clinical rehabilitation setting for 6 months before transferring to the lab.

Outside of the lab I spend my free time hiking in the winter and playing tabletop games year-round.

I am also a member of the Consciousness-Action-Time Lab:
